Founded in 1972 by Jim and Robin Carr, Charlotte, North Carolina based Bonded Logistics works with large distributors and manufacturers located throughout the U.S.

The company hired The Daniel Group to develop a long-range strategic plan. The primary objectives for the initial engagement included a three-pronged approach:
• Establishing a more disciplined planning process to improve decision-making among the executive team
• Creating a successful transition to the next generation
• Profitably growing the business

Results:

In the years since the plan was implemented and executed, Bonded Logistics has doubled revenues and substantially improved profitability.

Scott Carr, Jim and Robin’s son, is now president of the company. In his role, he’s assembled a strong team of managers capable of leading a business growing in both size and complexity.

The company also added a new business operation in order to enhance the services it provides customers. This new focus has proven to be a significant source of new revenue.

To help keep the executive team focused and on track, the company created an advisory board, which meets quarterly to assist the owners with company strategy and direction. Lynn Daniel of The Daniel Group serves on this board.
