Zbigniew Ras is currently a Professor of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. He also holds professorship positions at the Institute of Computer Science at Warsaw University of Technology, as well as at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology.

He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Warsaw in Poland, and his D.Sc. degree from the Institute of Computer Science at the Polish Academy of Sciences. He was also awarded the National Professorship title by the President of Poland.
